ISource played a crucial role in Telent’s innovative Wi-Fi technology project, providing skilled labour across 19 of Network Rail’s managed stations. The initiative ensures passengers nationwide can now access free, fast, and unlimited Wi-Fi services, enhancing their overall travel experience.

ISource’s contribution to Telent’s Wi-Fi technology project has revolutionized rail station connectivity, providing passengers with fast, reliable, and secure internet access. The successful deployment across 19 stations underscores our commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions, ensuring a seamless travel experience for both passengers and station staff.
Scope:
Teams, comprising a Supervisor, Electricians, Electrical Testers, Comms Engineers, and Safety Critical Support, were deployed to each station. With valid PTS’s, PASMAs, and IPAFs 2391 testers. Our teams worked seamlessly to deliver the project on time. The project has amassed over 80,000 work hours since its inception in 2020.
Technological Upgrade:
The stations now boast state-of-the-art Wi-Fi technology, including WiFi 6, future-proofing the service and delivering download speeds surpassing typical home broadband services. The user-friendly service incorporates Friendly Wi-Fi, filtering illegal or harmful content to ensure a safe online environment for all passengers.
Operational Benefits:
In addition to enhancing the passenger experience, the project provides a double boost by offering station staff, especially during disruptions, a private Wi-Fi network. This facilitates quicker access to information on their devices. The implementation of a network for station staff and members of the public ensures secure and frictionless connectivity, with immediate operational benefits reported by Network Rail.
